Joas Cardoso obtained his Bachelor's Degree and Postgraduate Advanced Diploma in Music from the well-known Trinity Laban Conservatoire Of Music And Dance (London-UK) under the guidance of the renowned cellist and conductor Richard Markson. Whilst studying and living in London Joas won a few competitions and was awarded a scholarship to conclude his postgraduate course.

Joas has been living in Japan since 2012 and has worked as a music teacher in various international schools, most recently taking the position as music teacher at the United School Of Tokyo, where he worked for two years and successfully conducted four major school concerts.

Joas is passionate about teaching music and loves to perform, most recently being part of Sigur Rós' Japan Tour as the lead cellist.
