Excellent advocate of music in various genres, flutist Jun Kubo is seen in Japanese media since she moved back to Tokyo from New York in 2012. She has performances throughout Japan playing classical, jazz, and pops on flute and Japanese Gagaku and Ancient Music on Ryuteki. Ms. Kubo works regularly as a translator for international masterclasses and magazine interviews, and most of her flute students are from abroad. Ms Kubo received her Bachelor’s of Music from the Juilliard School in New York, studied with the legendary flutist from NY Philharmonic, Julius Baker. She also earned her Master’s of Music & Artist Diploma from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, and Advanced Certificate in Music Education from NYU, where she also studied Jazz. She has toured and has recorded throughout major halls of US, Europe, Russia, and Japan.
