Tokyo International Music School started its Jazz programme in September 2022 with the foundation of the Youth Jazz Orchestra. A Community Big Band was established in April 2023 to provide opportunities for adults to perform.

Youth Jazz Orchestra
The Youth Jazz Orchestra is open to students who play big band instruments at ABRSM Grade 5 standard or above. Recent Repertoire includes Billy Strayhorn’s Take the A Train, Seven Steps to Heaven by Miles Davis, and Chick Corea’s Spain. Rehearsals take place every Sunday from 16:00-18:00 in Sangenjaya. Community Big Band
Community Big Band is a jazz group open to adults and university students who play big band instruments to a good standard. We aim to introduce a variety of repertoire as well as taking suggestions from the members. Rehearsals take place on Wednesdays from 19:00-20:30 in Sangenjaya.
